Venue Spotlight: Valley of the Eagles!

Congratulations to the newlyweds, Dalena & Ryan! We were honored to Bring Your Vision to Light at the Valley of the Eagles Event Center this past Saturday, June 26th.

Valley of the Eagles is the only Nicklaus designed, daily-fee golf course in Northern Ohio. Its grounds are specially designed to capture the natural beauty of the Black River Valley with its massive sheer black shale cliffs, tranquil surroundings of majestic trees, and breathtaking elevation changes.

The natural beauty of the course is represented in the atmosphere of both the Black River Tavern and its Event Center, located upstairs. Featuring wood accents from timber harvested from the course and natural stonework, both the Tavern and Event Center evoke a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere that is comfortable, warm, and inviting.

Dalena & Ryan's Big Day began with an outdoor ceremony, overlooking the picturesque landscape of the Black River Valley. Guests arrived to enjoy light, instrumental songs by The Piano Guys, specifically chosen by the bride. Meanwhile, wireless lavalier microphones were outfit on both the groom and officiant in order to amplify every word and vow soon to be shared under the arch. The couple's videographers (Jimmy & Shana of The Digital Team) tied their equipment into our ceremony sound system in order to capture the clearest possible audio for their video footage.

Then at 5:30pm, Dalena walked down the aisle to her chosen song, a made in heaven mashup of "Over the Rainbow" and "Simple Gifts" by The Piano Guys. Statements of love and vows were exchanged, witnessed by over 100 family and friends, some shedding a tear. The ceremony concluded with a release of butterflies and their chosen recessional song, "Came Here for Love" by Sigala and Ella Eyre.

Cocktail Hour took place inside the event center and its outdoor patio, simultaneously. Our full-service entertainment team was ready with background music playing at volumes supporting guest conversation in both the indoor and outdoor locations. Featured in the photo below is DJ Ray and Nick, the technician supporting all of Ray's sound and lighting throughout the evening.

The dining room was transformed through a collaboration of the couple's vision and the expertise of our professional lighting designers. Uplighting accented the room's gray walls with blush tones while brick and wood were highlighted in gold. Low ceilings captured and carried light giving the space a mood-setting glow. Thirty eye-catching, illuminated, paper lanterns were hung throughout the dining room. Each of these simple lighting elements complimented the room with an additional sense of depth and character.

Delicious BBQ, catered by the Black River Tavern, was preceded by the couple's Grand Entrance, two heartfelt speeches, and a blessing. Wedding formalities continued after dinner with the couple's first dance, a father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, and surprise mother/daughter dance. Each of these included elements of specifically prepared choreography and dance floor lighting queues!

After the cake cutting, all married couples were invited to participate in an Anniversary Dance. Ryan & Dalena were among the last at their whole party to be married, thus nearly every guest in attendance hit the dance floor! DJ Ray played the music, periodically dismissing couples based on their length of marriage. The newlyweds were the only couple dismissed at "under one year" and the last couple dancing had been married over 50 years!

Doughnuts for dessert and the late-night brick oven pizza were highlights of the evening alongside an especially active, all-out dance party. As the sun set and air cooled the venue's garage door opened to expand the party's footprint. Guests of all ages danced and celebrated inside, outside, or in both places between songs. The final song resulted in a sing-a-long to "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey.
