Congratulations to the newlyweds, Megan & Mike! We were honored to Bring Your Vision to Light at Windows on the River this past Saturday, July 3rd.
Windows on the River is certainly a "Venue with Views." Located in the FirstEnergy Powerhouse, the venue's multiple event spaces offer scenic views of Cleveland's city skyline, Cuyahoga River and historic buildings and bridges. The building’s industrial architecture complete with high ceilings and exposed brick presents a loft-like vibe with an urban ambiance that provides a beautiful foundation for any event.
Megan & Mike's wedding reception took place in the City View Room following a cocktail hour outside on the attached patio. The multi-level space is bathed in natural light through its enormous windows while pendant lights and market lights illuminate evening activities.
One might describe this venue as "simply elegant, just the way it is", though as lighting professionals we take pride in enhancing the overall aesthetic of even the most perfect of environments. Just as music controls the mood and energy of a dancing crowd, lighting governs the aura and ambiance of an event.
The City View Room at Windows on the River offers the potential for an extraordinary range of lighting enhancements. As seen in these photos, the simple addition of uplighting alone made a bold statement throughout the room. We chose a color that would best compliment the wedding décor while replacing the room's sense of depth and character, which was partially lost in the bathing of sunlight.
Windows on the River offers a truly amazing food and drink experience, prepared in-house. The venue's waitstaff was friendly, helpful, and timely. Cocktail hour featured passed hors d'oervres and the dinner menu offered a variety of delectable entrees. We especially appreciated the coffee station and cookies later in the evening! The couple's magnificent wedding cake, made with love by Wild Flour Bakery, adorned the center of the room where it was admired by nearly every guest upon their arrival.
Our full-service entertainment team provided background music playing at volumes supporting guest conversation both inside and outside through dinner. Later, following formal first dances, the floor overflowed with guests eager to party! DJ Ray kept the dance floor active with an eclectic mix of music while fulfilling the couple's "must play" list, their guests' requests, and even featured one Polka Dance as a nod to the groom's polish heritage.
The evening's last song, "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver, inspired a sing-a-long gathering in a large circle around the dancing bride & groom. (featured in the title photo of this post)
The party then made its way outside for a Grand Exit, Sparkler Send-Off of the newlywed couple!
